The Agricultural Research and Extension Service in the city of Goyang has been founded to develop technologies for stable production of agricultural produces, foster experts in the agricultural field, establish a healthy agricultural environment, and apply sophisticated technologies to agriculture. There are many facilities such as the Nongshim Theme Park as an agricultural culture exhibition, cactus exhibition, and lab for new seeds. In addition, farm mechanization is one of the most important tasks pursued by the organization. In particular, the Nongshim Theme Park has 3 exhibition halls where a total of 413 agricultural crops (176 different kinds) are on display in a chronological way (Gawaji remains, prehistoric agriculture, modern agriculture). It also serves as a good place for agricultural education since lots of traditional agricultural equipment is also displayed here such as water mills, tread mills, straw ropes and straw bags. |
