I wish a “Happy New Year” to all of you in the foreign
and domestic exhibition industries, as well as the
people who have been encouraging us for the successful
opening and development of KINTEX. May all your
wishes come true in 2005.
2005 will
be a meaningful year for the domestic exhibition
industry, as well as for all the Korean
people and people in the foreign exhibition
industry. As you may know, 2005 is the opening
year of KINTEX, the largest exhibition center
in Northeast Asia. This opening enhances
the image of the Korean exhibition industry
and contributes to the regional progress
of Gyeonggi Province. It will surely contribute
to expanding the nation’s trade and accelerating
the industrial development. |

KINTEX has been preparing for its opening with its
painstaking efforts for the last two years. Now,
it is in the final stage of the 1st construction
with 95% of the entire process completed. This coming
April 29, the large exhibition facilities of 53,541㎡
will open first. We have already attracted the top
5 Korean exhibitions, including the Seoul Motor
Show. And, we are now doing our best to ensure that
they will be staged successfully at KINTEX. KINTEX
is drawing prime attention from the foreign exhibition
industry as the hub of Northeast Asian businesses
with its large scale and wonderful facilities.
Once KINTEX opens, it will solve the shortage
of domestic exhibition space and transform the
map of the Korean exhibition industry, serving
as the venue for the large-scale special exhibitions
and international exhibitions. Particularly, it
will play a vital role in boosting the domestic
economy and exports.
KINTEX is in the shape of a butterfly dreaming
of soaring. Now, it is a fully-grown butterfly
ready to fly. I wish this “butterfly” will brighten
and profit the world with its beautiful wings,
thus spreading a true "butterfly effect."
I ask for your affection for and interest in this
butterfly so that it can realize its dream.
